TIMETABLE FOR REMAINDER OF TERM
Thursday Nov 20th:
Usual evening class at Kallang. Its rained every day so far this week …so, PLEASE … check the weather line before coming down. 9640 9047 . If you are on the Phuket trip next week this is a compulsory session, to enable us to make team selections and practice as teams. This is very important.

Saturday/Sunday Nov 22nd/23rd:
Normal classes/Usual Times: Full league programme Sunday afternoon. (See Below)

Wednesday Nov 26th Evening Session at the Floating Platform: *PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE OF DAY*
Instead of the Thursday evening session we are planning to play on Wednesday next week (19th Nov) at the floating platform (artificial) pitch (opposite Esplanande) for our evening class. SSC will confirm this week.

This will be open to all students in the school (except U5s) and should be a great experience. BUT….

ALL students who are going to Phuket must please attend this session .. from ALL age groups. … to enable us to make team selections and practice as teams. This is very important.

Saturday/Sunday Nov 29th/30th:
NO CLASSES/NO LEAGUES AT ALL (JSSL teams going to Phuket for the weekend)

Saturday/Sunday Dec 6th/7th
Full programme of (make-up) classes with Saturday classes at the normal times.

BUT… because of another marathon and endless, complicated road closures around Kallang, we cannot have classes on Sunday morning.

So all the usual Sunday morning classes will held on Sunday afternoon. U5s/U8s and U10s/U12s all at 3.00pm Sunday Dec 7th.

If you are owed additional make-up for this term you may come Saturday AND Sunday. Please make sure Rina knows you are doing this.
N.B. Make-up cannot be carried forward to next term nor can fee refunds be given. That has always been our policy.

PRECISE TRADER JSSL ARSENAL LEAGUES THIS WEEKEND (22nd/23rd)
This weekend we resume the Under 10 and Under 12’s Premier Leagues. Full fixture list is below.

CORRECT CLOTHING - REPEAT NOTICE!
Players of all age groups must please wear the correct JSSL clothing to all classes please. The Emirates/Arsenal shirt is great but it is not our official shirt and should not be worn: nor should any other shirts of other football clubs be worn. Also, all socks should be red and not white .. thanks.

THE WEATHER/THE WEATHER LINE/THE RAIN!
After an hour of heavy rain during class last Saturday morning, the pitch was a mess by lunchtime. By Saturday evening it was an even worse mess! Throughout Saturday, all students and parents present were warned to call the weather line on Sunday morning as conditions were so bad that the Sunday afternoon games risked being cancelled.

On Sunday morning we held classes (as we had no make-up dates left available) but it was clear that match soccer would be impossible that afternoon so.. on Sunday morning at 09.15am, I posted a message on the weather line saying the games were cancelled. Unfortunately, though, some parents did not call before coming down on Sunday afternoon.

Please folks .. do not make your own decisions as to whether we are playing or not based on looking out of your home windows!! This is a very bad year for weather and it takes just 15 seconds to check on the weather line. Anyone who was at the ground on Saturday must have seen that the pitch was very bad … and warnings were given. It can be sunny and dry at your place .. but not at Kallang!

We go to great lengths to have a weather line (which costs us $400 a month) Parents also have the school phone number (6348 5780) and my mobile number (9753 3684) and Rina’s number too. We cannot do more to have good communications.

I’m sorry but it’s not our fault if people don’t check. If in doubt .. call! 9640 9047. In the unlikely event you can’t get through, then please call one of the three other numbers.

Group SMS does not work as we found before when we tried it for two whole terms. That’s because many parents have their phones switched off and/or do not check.

LAST WEEKEND PHUKET
Last weekend we entered an Under 9 team in the British International Soccer School Tournament in Phuket. The team played some excellent football and made it the finals where they lost to a stronger team from Bangkok. It was a great experience for all and next year we will look to enter teams in all of the age groups. It also served as an opportunity to finalize arrangements for the JSSL School trip to Phuket next week where we will be playing at the British International School in tournaments on both Saturday and Sunday.

PHUKET TRIP
Final payments this weekend please!! Harvey has now arranged a full programme of matches on Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon at the British School in Phuket. The facilities there are outstanding. It should be two, great days. This leaves Sat. and Sunday morning for a sleep-in/R&R/the pool etc. We are planning a BBQ on Sunday evening… full details to follow

Kindly note that the bus transfer costs do NOT include transfers to Patong/Phuket Town on Friday and Saturday evenings. Payment for these (bus) trips must be made when boarding the bus. This is to avoid those not going having to pay for a bus trip they don’t want or make!

ADVANCE WARNING
The Tiger flight on Friday morning 28th is from the BUDGET TERMINAL. Everyone should please be there by 07.45am as there are some 120 to check-in for a 09.20am flight. (Remember guys, this is a Budget flight so all food and drink you have on board has to be paid for … have a good breakfast earlier??!!)

Those not on this flight (i.e. those travelling the previous day or later on the 28th) must please check their terminal carefully. We are sorting out transfers in Phuket for you and will inform you of these in the next few days.

THIS SUNDAY
Precise Trader JSSL Arsenal Premier League – November 16th
Quite a few teams are at tournaments in Bangkok and Phuket this weekend including ISA and Passion so there are no official league games BUT we will have a full fixture list of friendly games for all age groups as follows:

• Under 14’s Premier League – 11am to noon
• Under 12’s Championship League – 1 to 2pm
• Under 10’s Championship League – 2.15 to 3.15pm
• Under 8’s Premier League - 3.30 to 4.30pm
• Under 8’s – Championship League – 4.45 to 5.45pm

Please make sure that you wear the new Precise Trader Sunday league kit for ALL league games including black shorts (which we now have stock in) and black socks.
