Gothia World Youth Cup
Parents & Players Update
 
Dear Parents and Players,
Once again congratulations on being selected to represent JSSL Arsenal at the Gothia World Youth Cup in Sweden this July.
 
We are excited to be taking 9 teams to Sweden and are pleased to accommodate all of our age groups including:
boys 11′s x 2 teams; boys 12′s, girls 12′s, boys 13′s, boys 14′s, boys 15′s, boys 16s an girls 15′s. The team lists for each of the age groups is set out below and are not yet finalized for the older groups as more players are keen to join and we still need a goal keeper in the team.
 
ARRIVAL AT GOTHIA & FLIGHTS
Flying with the Main Group

• We have reserved flights on Fin Air for the main group.
• The cost of the flight is S$1,450
  Flight details are as follows:
  Fin Air AY 082 departing Singapore  Saturday July 13th 23.35pm arrive Gothenburg Sunday 14th 9am
  Fin Air AY 081 departing Gothenburg July 20th 18.25pm arrive Singapore Monday 22nd July 16.40pm
• If you would like to fly earlier or return later on the Fin Air flight this is possible but you will incur an additional S$150 for the change in your flight date
• If you would like to fly with the Main Group please email me this week

Flying In To Gothenburg On Your Own

• For those that are traveling to Sweden from the UK, USA or Europe please plan to arrive in Gothenburg on Sunday 14th July, by lunch time.
• We need to register all of our teams and players together at one time Sunday afternoon.

ACCOMODATION
All accommodation will be handled by JSSL through the Gothia Organizers.
Save for our Girls u15′s, all of our teams, parents and players will be staying together at the Hotel Clarion Post. This is a good 4 star hotel in the center of town near Central Station and close to where we stayed last year.

The rates which we have obtained through the Organizer are as follows:

• Double Room – US$700 per person for 6 nights
• Triple Room – US$600 per person for 6 nights
• The above rates include breakfast plus the Gothia Card plus the Opening Ceremony Ticket

Our u15′s Girls team will be staying at a Local School which is US$400 per person and includes 3 meals a day and the Gothia Card.
 
TRAINING
Training for Gothia will commence in May after our JSSL 7′s Tournament. The sessions will be held on:

• Boys 11′s, Boys 12′s, Boys 13′s, Girls 12′s – Tuesdays and Thursdays at UWC East
• Boys 14′s, 15′s and 16′s and Girls 15′s – Wednesdays at UWC East
• The teams will also train on Saturdays during their regular weekend training sessions.
• We will also add in Sunday sessions in June and July and will advise on the exact start date and schedule in April

As mentioned previously for those of you taking a holiday in Europe or the USA please try to take your holiday after Gothia and stay as long as possible in Singapore as we will train all the way up to the week before we leave for Sweden.
 
The training for Gothia is as much a part of the experience as the tournament itself and for many of the teams they will be playing 11 aside for the first time.
 
TRAVELING KIT
All players will receive a new tournament playing kit together with a full traveling kit including t-shirts, shorts, track bottoms, track tops and bag.
 
GOTHIA COSTS
JSSL will handle all aspects of the trip for you and your family if you travel with the Main Group form Singapore including flights, accommodation, transportation and tournament logistics.
 
If you are making your own way to Sweden we will handle the accommodation and tournament logistics.

1. Flights – S$1450 return on FIn Air
2. Accommodation at Clarion Hotel
   Double Room per person – US$700
   Triple Room per person – US$600
3. Tournament Fee, Transportation, Full Traveling & Playing Kit, & Coaches Fee S$380 per player

JSSL will invoice parents for Gothia in April when we are required to pay for the Flights and the Accommodation which needs to be paid for in advance.

Please email me to let me know whether you are traveling with the main group or on your own. If you are with the main group please send over a copy of each persons passport.
If you have already emailed this information please re-send it to be on the safe side.
 
2.  Accommodation
Please email me your room requirements. The number in your group.
 
3.  Passport Copy
Please email a copy of all players passports for team registration
 
Finally, please try to send me all of the above information this week or by Friday at the latest as we now need to confirm our numbers for the hotel and for the flights.
